Break a Leg
04:54
|
|||
I know your rhythm off by heart
The sound of your voice ringing in my ears
But now it ceases to exist
And I’m waiting hours for your voice in my head
Breaking my nails one at a time
Clawing for you to come back
Breaking my nails, I know it ain’t right
You’re still here, you’re still mine
Break a leg this time
I have these poisonous dreams
Destructive thinking, is this gonna be the end?
300 miles away, leaving me to dwell alone in my thoughts
I know your rhythm off by heart
But it’s not helping my anxiety right now
Need a gun to put me out this mess
Need a friend to help me assess
Or maybe just a month of sleep
Breaking my nails one at a time
Clawing for you to come back
Breaking my nails, I know it ain’t right
You’re still here, you’re still mine
Break a leg this time

Paris in Spring
03:04
|
|||
The city's all a-shining
Beneath a fickle sun,
A gay young wind's a-blowing,
The little shower is done.
But the rain-drops still are clinging
And falling one by one --
Oh it's Paris, it's Paris,
And spring-time has begun.
I know the Bois is twinkling
In a sort of hazy sheen,
And down the Champs the gray old arch
Stands cold and still between.
But the walk is flecked with sunlight
Where the great acacias lean,
Oh it's Paris, it's Paris,
And the leaves are growing green.
The sun's gone in, the sparkle's dead,
There falls a dash of rain,
But who would care when such an air
Comes blowing up the Seine?
And still Ninette sits sewing
Beside her window-pane,
When it's Paris, it's Paris,
And spring-time's come again.

Sea Song
05:06
|
|||
Hear the crashing in my head
Sheets hold me down so I stay in bed
Eyes flutter and close shut
Picturing waves and wings and huts
I'm so close to home in my heart
But these are miles apart
Holding hugs and saying goodbye
To the people I've known all my life
So tell me how can I say it better than that
Leaving for the big wide world
Leaving behind the sea
But I'll return
And I've packed so many things
To even stop and care
But when I left
There was no going back
Even if I wanted to
And when you're gone
Everything's brighter and more worth living for
So I apologise
Things do come to an end eventually
And I saw things fade away more than you obviously
So label me the bad guy
And label me, I don't care
Tired of being let down
I let you know that you weren't there
But when I left
There was no going back
Even if I wanted to
And when you're gone
Everything's brighter and more worth living for
But when I left
I thought I was holding you back from living your life
But now you're gone
I realised it was you who stopped me
From living mine

Intertwined

Caress my skin with your gentle words
Not like before
When you seemed so speechless
Cats got your tongue but I
Struggled onwards
Powering through
Running to you
And I
Threw away the only person who helped me sleep at night
And now I’m
Lying here wide awake
So
If you see him
Let me call him over
Let our
bodies become intertwined
So
if I see him
Let us talk us over
Let my
mind remember you were mine
I’m so full up with emotion
Can’t even eat my meal
It’s holding down the words that hurts the most
And I
Glance over to the edge
To see you standing there
It’s gonna come out
Cuz it has to sometimes
And I
Threw away the only person who helped me sleep at night
And now I’m
Lying here wide awake
So
If you see him
Let me call him over
Let my
body become intertwined
So
if I see him
Let us talk us over
Let my
mind remember you were mine
And I
Threw away the only person who helped me sleep at night
And now I’m
Lying here wide awake
